National kitchen and bedroom retailer Wren has announced a £35m investment into its vehicle fleet, promising it will significantly increase the company’s delivery capacity across the UK.
Among the new vehicle additions are a fleet of Mercedes-Benz eActros 600 eHGVs, which Wren says offer a range of up to 500km in a single charge. To help support the rollout of these vehicles, which will operate from the company’s Barton-upon-Humber manufacturing complex, Wren says it has also implemented a dedicated charging infrastructure across its manufacturing sites.
The vehicles are also equipped with what Wren calls “the most advanced active safety systems”, which include sideguard assist, active brake assist and electronic stability control systems.
The investment will also help Wren in its plans to achieve Net Zero status by 2030. Wren says that following the new vehicles’ deployment on its most demanding inbound logistics routes, the company will be able to reduce 90% of the Scope 1 carbon emissions across its supply chain operations.
Alongside the new eHGVs, Wren says it is also adding the latest Euro 6 standard biofuel compatible vehicles to its transport fleet as well.
The company claims that the fleet expansion follows “sustained consumer demand for its affordable, high-quality, made-to-order kitchen and bedroom ranges”, and also underlines its own confidence in the business’ continued growth. For context, Wren managed to achieve turnover of more than £1bn in 2025, which the company said represented its second-highest ever annual sales figures.
“The arrival of our first Mercedes-Benz eActros 600 trucks is a landmark moment in our sustainability journey,” said Lee Holmes, transport and logistics director at Wren Kitchens.
He continued: “These are among the most advanced and safest heavy goods vehicles on the road today and by deploying them on our raw material routes we are removing fossil fuels from the very heart of our supply chain. We are renewing and expanding our fleet to help meet the demands of our growing business while continuing our investment to reduce our environmental impact as we remain committed to achieving our goal of Net Zero by 2030.”
In related news, last month Wren also vowed to invest roughly £20m into the opening of 15 new showrooms in the UK this year, with locations in Southport, Leamington Spa and Newport said to be first on the list.
These investments follow the recent shock news that Wren Kitchens was pulling out of the US market entirely. Following the sudden announcement, the retailer abruptly closed all of its showrooms in the United States, with employees said to be “blindsided” by the news on April 23.
