70% of Brits more likely to buy products carrying Made in Britain logo

70% of UK consumers are more likely to buy products displaying the Made in Britain trademark, according to new research commissioned by the manufacturing organisation.

A YouGov survey of 2,095 UK adults found that 70% of respondents were more likely to buy products carrying the logo, up from 44% in 2025. The research also found that 86% of consumers consider a product’s country of origin when making a purchase.

The survey suggests demand for British-made products continues to grow, with respondents associating UK manufacturing with quality and reliability. However, 46% of those surveyed said clearer labelling would make it easier to identify British-made products in retail environments.

The findings follow previous research published by Made in Britain, which reported that UK consumers trust the quality of British-made goods more than products manufactured in the USA, China and the European Union.

The survey also found that 19% of respondents associated the UK with producing the best quality goods when asked to choose from a list of the country’s largest import markets.

John Pearce, CEO of Made in Britain, said: “It’s clear that British manufacturing commands a high level of trust among consumers. People want to know where products come from, how they are made, and the standards they meet.

“The Made in Britain trademark helps people to identify products manufactured in the UK by verified members committed to quality and accountability. With half of all Britons (49%) recognising the mark, choosing to bear the Made in Britain logo is a strong opportunity for retailers and manufacturers to work together to promote greater visibility of British-made goods.”

Made in Britain said more than 2,250 UK manufacturers now use its trademark. The YouGov survey was carried out online between April 2 and 6, 2026.
