PJH colleagues step up for a good cause

Two employees from KBB distributor PJH have raised almost £2,000 for the company’s 2025 chosen charity, after successfully completing a series of arduous endurance challenges.

Katy Burns, the company’s HR business partner for the North, along with her fiancé Royston, successfully completed the 13-mile MacMillan Mighty Hike in the Lake District. Along the way, they faced torrential rain, thunder, and lightning before eventually crossing the finish line.

Between them, the pair raised £774, all of which will go towards Macmillan Cancer Support – PJH’s chosen charity for 2025.

Similarly, in Manchester, solutions delivery manager, John Travis, completed his first ever Manchester Marathon. He crossed the finish line on the 26-mile course in just over five hours, raising £970, almost doubling his original fundraising goal.

“Katy and John have both shown exceptional determination and spirit, taking on physically and mentally demanding challenges in aid of a fantastic cause,” said PJH’s head of people, Lynn Statham. “Their achievements embody the values we hold dear at PJH, which are teamwork, resilience, and a commitment to making a difference.”

PJH has set an ambitious goal of raising £15,000 for the charity in 2025, with the company also pledging to match employee fundraising up to £10,000. Last August, PJH announced it had managed to smash its £10,000 annual fundraising target for 2024, prompting the company to increase its total goal for this year.
