Simeon Gabriel, the managing director of Hettich UK, has announced he is stepping down from his role, with the business now moving to a “collaborative leadership model” with Matt Fowler and David Smith at the helm.

Gabriel has been with the business for nearly four years, and will now be taking up a new role outside the furniture industry, focused specifically on sustainable living solutions, which Hettich UK says is “one of his personal passions”.

In his place, Hettich UK will adopt a collaborative approach to its leadership model from January 2026, which the company says is reflective of its approach in recent years.

With 15 years of experience with Hettich, Matt Fowler will assume responsibility as the company’s commercial director. He will jointly lead the UK business with David Smith, who will assume responsibility as finance director, following his 19 years with the company.

Despite the leadership change, Hettich says its partners and customers can expect continuity, and says that its commitment to service and solutions remains unchanged.
