Sola Kitchens is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year with a series of events, films and retrospective content looking back at the company’s development.
The luxury kitchen retailer was established by Swedish-born Sofia Bune Strandh, who launched the business after identifying what she described as a gap in the UK market for bespoke Scandinavian kitchens.
To mark the milestone, Sola Kitchens is launching a month-long programme of activity including a new anniversary film, archive content, founder interviews, client stories and events. The celebrations will culminate in a 20th anniversary event at London’s Barbican Conservatory this month.
The company said it has grown from its original focus on Scandinavian-inspired kitchen design to become a luxury kitchen specialist with showrooms in Wigmore Street, Fulham and Hampstead.
Sola Kitchens’ portfolio has expanded over the past two decades to include a number of design collections, including Gustavian, Fjord, Sletten, Skog and the more recently launched Gerakas Signature Style range.
Commenting on the anniversary, founder Sofia Bune Strandh said: “At the heart of Sola Kitchens has always been the belief that kitchens should feel deeply personal, spaces designed not only for how they look, but for how people truly live.
“Over the last twenty years, we’ve had the privilege of designing homes for extraordinary clients, collaborating with incredible craftsmen and building a team that shares the same passion for thoughtful, timeless design. This anniversary is a celebration of everyone who has been part of that journey.”
As part of the anniversary campaign, Sola Kitchens will publish a dedicated journal series, archive imagery, behind-the-scenes content, interviews with designers and clients, films focused on craftsmanship and manufacturing, and retrospectives of projects completed over the last 20 years.
Bune Strandh added: “While much has evolved over the years, our philosophy remains unchanged. We continue to believe in timeless design, authentic craftsmanship and creating spaces that feel personal, enduring and made to be lived in for generations.”
