Staff from Utopia’s Wolverhampton HQ recently raised more than £1,000 for charity after completing their annual charity walk, donating the funds to two worthwhile charities.
Organised by assembly team supervisor Matt Cox, the event is said to have become a real highlight of the Utopia company calendar, described by Cox as: “a relaxed and enjoyable walk with colleagues, with plenty of refreshments and good conversation along the way.”
This year’s funds raised will be split between mental health charity MIND, and the Liz Green Fund, which supports cancer charities and local initiatives. The Liz Green Fund was established following the passing of the bathroom company’s founding director, Liz Green, after her death in September 2022.
The weather was reportedly kind for this year’s annual walk, which took place on Saturday, July 5. Participants walked a 13.5km long route dressed in striking orange T-shirts with the logos of the two supported charities.
“It’s always a brilliant opportunity to come together outside of work, support great causes, and build team spirit,” commented Matt Cox. “A huge thank-you to everyone who took part and to all those who supported us along the way.”
