Former Miele UK boss Simon Grantham has been appointed as managing director of Panasonic UK and Ireland.
He will join the business early this year.
Grantham (pictured) spent the past 12 years at Miele, as managing director of the UK and Ireland business. He led the premium German appliance brand through a successful period of growth.
As Panasonic celebrates its 100-year anniversary in 2018, Grantham joins the company with a strong commercial background in home appliances and a focus on premium brands and products.
Panasonic said he also brings with him a deep understanding of the changing needs of the consumer in a very dynamic market.
Grantham’s early career included roles in sales and marketing. He was sales director and then managing director of Tefal UK.
After a spell as managing director of Life Fitness UK, he joined Groupe SEB, parent company of Tefal, as group managing director for the UK and Ireland.
Following Grantham’s appointment at Panasonic, the company’s acting UK MD, Hank Hatsuda, will assume the role of the company’s deputy managing director.
