Taps and sinks brand Blanco has sponsored the director of a Northern Ireland-based kitchen component distributor on a fund-raising climb up Mount Kilimanjaro.
Joe Lyons, the director at family business Lyons, which supplies sinks, taps, drawers and hinges to NI retailers, took up the challenge to raise money for the Irish Rugby Union charitable trust.
Lyons climbed with a group of 32 people, including Irish rugby legends. They all successfully reached the summit of the highest mountain in Africa at 5,895 metres above sea level.
The climb raised about £75,000 in total for the charity, which supports seriously injured rugby players in their daily lives.
“The climb was tough but very successful,” said Lyons.
“I want to thank Blanco for kindly making a generous donation to this very worthy venture.”
