Bathstore to complete ‘as many orders as possible’

Bathstore administrators are telling worried customers that stores will remain open to sell product and the company will ‘fulfil as many orders as possible’.

It will not, however, offer any installation services after pulling the plug on all fits immediately – including unfinished jobs.

Customers are being told Bathstore will contact them by phone or email as soon as possible if they have an outstanding order. However, the administrator confirms that it cannot refund any deposits paid prior to their appointment.

Customers can make a claim for any undelivered goods or installations that have been paid for but not completed, however they will need to find ‘alternative arrangements’ funded out of their own pocket to finish their projects.

Anyone wanting to make a claim needs to start with their credit or debit card provider, as they may be able to claim a refund from them. If successful, the card issuer makes the claim to the administrator instead.

Any product warranties or guarantees will also not be honoured.

Bathstore’s Twitter feed, now shut down, was reassuring customers as late as Tuesday that it was ‘business as usual’ and telling them that their warranties were safe. It consistently blamed non-delivery of goods on a ‘clerical error’ at courier DHL.

The Bathstore website remains live and is still promoting a ‘massive stock clearance’. Details of the administration are found by scrolling to the bottom of the home page.
