Merlyn employees took part in a triathlon to help reach the £20,000 target for The Pink Ribbon Foundation as part of its #justareminder collaboration with the breast cancer awareness charity.
On July 21, four Merlyn employees undertook the 25km Kilkenny Triathlon, which involved, a swim of 750m, a 19.4km cycle ride and ended with a 5km run. The team raised £1,500 during the event that will go towards the £20,000 target.
The campaign, that was launched in April, is a way to help increase awareness of breast cancer and to help save lives through regular examinations.
According to Norstat, 75% of women forget to check their breasts, however 65% of those surveyed said that the pink ribbon symbol that Merlyn has laser-cut on its shower enclosures would act as a reminder to self-check.
