Exhibitor interview: Daniel Hughes, business development manager, TLW
Q: Why are trade shows such as this one important for your business?
A: We always welcome the opportunity to share news, product innovations and upcoming plans with our customers or prospective customers. kbb Birmingham offers us the chance to discuss all of these topics in an exciting and enthusing environment, as well as allowing all of our dedicated team to gain insights into the latest developments in our industry.
Q: How’s business compared with last year?
A: As we are sure is true for many businesses within the industry, this year has seen a lot of uncertainty and delays. As a company, we have seen continued growth throughout 2019, which we now envisage will progress faster into the coming year.
Q: How do you think the relationship between supplier and customer is changing?
A: The days of just supplying product are over. Clearly any supplier agreement has to be on the basis of a partnership, whereby a wide variety of additional support packages are offered from the supplier in order to be a valued part of that client’s business.
Q: What are the main challenges you will face as a business this year and how will you overcome these?
A: The political situation at large has been the cause of significant uncertainty and has affected business trading in many ways, including exchange rates and consumer confidence. Now that there is no longer uncertainty surrounding the exit from Europe, we hope that we can plan our business strategy accordingly.
