Haier appoints new CCO for UK and Ireland

Haier has appointed Jim McEwan (pictured) as chief commercial officer for the UK and Ireland.

He joins Haier following 20 years in the appliance industry, predominantly in commercial and product development and most recently vice president and country manager at Furrion.

McEwan will oversee Haier’s UK team and will be responsible for implementing a strategy to help expand the brand within the UK and Ireland markets and to continue to deliver value to both trade partners and consumers.

Speaking of his appointment, McEwan said: “I am thrilled with the opportunity to help lead Haier into the next stage of its development in the UK and Ireland marketplace.

“Haier is unique in its understanding of customer needs and determination to create innovative products that simplify and improve everyday life. As the world’s number one major appliance brand, the company is well placed to play a major role in the electrical appliance industry and challenge the omnipresent pressure on average price.

“Haier is constantly striving to listen to consumers’ changing needs and adapt to them, while simultaneously harnessing cutting-edge technology to stand out in the market, so I’m excited about unlocking the opportunity to establish Haier as a premium player in the market.”

David Meyerowitz, CEO of Haier Europe, added: “Jim is a fantastic appointment for us at a time when we’re achieving considerable growth in the UK and Ireland.

“His wealth of experience is invaluable, and he shares our vision of developing the Haier brand and we are confident in his ability to facilitate and deliver further success in a very important territory.”

The Haier Group family of brands comprises Candy, Casarte, Fisher & Paykel, GE Appliances, and Hoover.
