Quooker has partnered with the Used Kitchen Exchange (UKE) to encourage a more sustainable solution for ex-display and pre-owned taps.
From this month, Quooker will become an official supplier to UKE, and all taps purchased through UKE will be completely reserviced and rigorously tested to ensure they are in perfect working order. They will come with an official Quooker 12-month warranty.
The taps will be sold below normal retail prices and will open up Quooker ownership to those who may not have been able to afford full list price.
Quooker said that availability will be dependent on the rate at which showroom refurbishments occur.
Commenting on the partnership, Quooker managing director Stephen Johnson said: “Our partnership with UKE allows more people to enjoy the revolutionary benefits of a Quooker tap, alongside the more sustainable lifestyle that comes with it, at a more affordable price. By becoming an official supplier to UKE, we also reduce the amount of waste that comes from our dealers and retailers nationwide. Our pre-loved taps now get the chance of a second home, which we could not be more delighted about.”
UKE founder and director Helen Lord added: “We are delighted to have been chosen by Quooker to help them meet growing consumer demand for sustainable products. Through Stephen Johnson’s thought leadership, Quooker is taking a circular approach to sales which is setting a clear benchmark within our industry and we couldn’t be prouder to be partnering with them on their sustainability journey.”
UKE says that every kitchen that is traded in reduces rates of deforestation and on average saves 5,000kg of carbon.
Used Kitchen Exchange is a sustainability partner of the kbbreview Retail & Design Awards 2022.
