Kitchen retail specialist Wren Kitchens will open eight new showrooms as it continues its expansion across the Northeast coast of the United States.
This summer, Wren Kitchens’ $30 million (£23m) expansion plans are continuing with new showrooms opening in Selden (New York), Wilkes-Barre (Pennsylvania), Lawrenceville (New Jersey), and Commack (New York). Later in the year, Wren Kitchens will open a further four new locations in those same three states.
Having already opened three US showrooms in Milford, Levittown and Newington, the new megastores will create 500 new jobs. Wren Kitchens said the new jobs will be created in retail, manufacturing, transport, logistics and office support roles such as HR and administration. The retailer also stated that there are currently over 80 open vacancies.
Wren decided to expand into the US market in early 2020. Its first American showroom opened in Milford, Connecticut, in November 2020.
“We’ve brought a unique concept to the American kitchen market for the very first time and it’s proving successful,” said Raf Klimek, Wren Kitchens manufacturing and logistics director. “The Northeast coast is a prime location for Wren in terms of connectivity, making it the perfect platform to continue our exciting expansion plans.”
The new mega showrooms will feature an array of full-sized kitchens on display, as well as various cabinet styles, colours, appliances, storage solutions, countertops, sinks, faucets, and accessories. Plus, comfortable design desks, virtual reality studios, child-friendly play zones and coffee areas.
