A Star Wars kitchen fit for a Jedi?

Have you ever wondered what a Jedi’s kitchen would look like? Elements Kitchens has designed a kitchen that is based on the iconic Star Wars Jedi and Sith orders.

The company’s CAD designer, Anna Wilson created the Star Wars-inspired kitchen as she trains to become a kitchen designer, and to celebrate the 45th anniversary of the Sci-Fi franchise.

The kitchen design is a contemporary Porter handleless kitchen in Stone with feature Unity doors in Reclaimed Oak, both from Elements Kitchen’s Second Nature collection. The design is said to reflect the natural textures of Jedi Robes.

The Reading-based design studio said Porter in Graphite was used on the kitchen island to give a nod to the ‘dark side’. Caesarstone Cloudburst Concrete quartz work surface is said to mirror the industrial and sandy surface of the Star Wars planet Tatooine, with a red layer of Hot from Corian’s Bold range showing “the frisson between the Dark and Light of Sith and Jedi.”

The kitchen design also includes LED strip lighting that changes colours to match the red and blue from the film’s famous lightsabers. To finish off the look, “futuristic” Smeg appliances with Eclipse black glass are matched with a Quooker Fusion tap in black matte and Kaelo open bottle host in gun metal.

Speaking about the Star Wars design, Element Kitchens’ marketing and business development manager, Claira Turvey, said: “It’s a bit of a fun concept and gets the wider public interested in the intricacies of kitchen design.”
