David Woollcott to leave Fisher & Paykel

David Woollcott will depart Fisher & Paykel at the end of October after being managing director in UK, Ireland and Europe for five years.

The news comes just days after the brand announced its plans to open its first UK Experience Centre on Wigmore Street at the heart of the London kitchen industry in 2023.

While the high-end appliance brand finds a new managing director, Laurence Mawhinney, executive vice-president business development, will lead the UK, Ireland and European business in the interim.

A veteran of the company, Mawhinney has been with Fisher & Paykel for 30 years and has been a board member for the UK team for several years while being executive vice president business development.

Woollcott has led the UK, Ireland and Europe team for five-years, commenting on his time at the company he said: “Fisher & Paykel is the most extraordinary company I have ever had the pleasure of working for. In five short years, we trebled the size of our team and have a depth of talent and belief, which any leader would be proud of and happy to serve. What Fisher & Paykel does above all else is exceptional people.”

Speaking about Woollcott, Mawhinney said: “David has brought inspiring leadership while transforming the UK, Ireland and Europe and delivered many successes for the market during his time with Fisher & Paykel.
