Business law specialists Fox Williams is hosting its annual agent law seminar at its London offices on January 30.
The seminar is free to attend and aimed at principals, agents, suppliers and distributors and will focus on the major legal and contractual issues affecting agents and distributors in the coming year.
Guest speaker Oliver Segal KC will share his views on the requirement under the Commercial Agents Regulations that the agent comply with the principal’s reasonable instructions and the obligations under the Regulations for the principal to act in good faith towards the agent, and therefore what is reasonable?
Topics covered during the seminar will include the right to set-off in distribution agreements and how it can go wrong if not properly addressed in your contracts; commission and what agents’ entitlements are in light of recent court judgments; and giving notice of termination, how you can get it wrong and what you need to do to get it right.
The seminar will be hosted by the head of Fox Williams’s agent law team Stephen Sidkin, and there will be the opportunity to ask questions of the speakers afterwards.
The seminar will be held at Fox Williams’s offices at 10 Finsbury Square, London EC2A 1AF on Tuesday, January 30. Registration is at 6pm and the seminar runs from 6.30pm to 7.30pm, followed by networking drinks and canapes.
