Magnet to pilot concessions in Selco Builders Warehouse stores

Magnet is piloting a string of kitchen concessions in Selco Builders Warehouse stores.

The first of the kitchen concessions in the Selco builders merchants stores is due to open in Walthamstow, London, on January 29. This will be followed by Selco Enfield and Selco Tottenham at the end of February.

Magnet said that with Selco having achieved remarkable growth over the past two decades, the collaboration opens up a “tremendous opportunity for us to access a broader market and elevate our brand presence across the UK”.

The initial openings will serve as a pilot and, if successful, Magnet said it “would likely open up many more opportunities within the Selco network”.

Commenting on the move, Kristoffer Ljungfelt, executive vice-president at Magnet, said: “Magnet has a heritage of over 100 years, founded as a trade business in Bingley, Yorkshire in 1918, and although we’ve come a long way from our humble Yorkshire roots, our connection to the trade has always been at the heart of what we do, which is why we’re delighted to be partnering with Selco who have achieved remarkable growth over the past two decades having positioned themselves as the go-to choice for local builders across the UK.”

He added: “This exciting new venture will give their customers access to our premium kitchen designs, offering more choice and an enhanced range of quality products all under one roof.“

Commenting on the move, Selco Builders Warehouse chief executive Howard Luft said: “The Magnet implant kitchen businesses will be fully managed by Magnet, giving Selco customers the benefits of a leading brand and a first class serve proposition at trade prices.”

Magnet is owned by Nobia and has around 195 kitchen showrooms nationwide.
