Kitchen and bathroom product supplier Abode has announced it will be supporting Sheffield-based Bluebell Wood Hospice as its latest charity partner.
Since 2008, the hospice has offered support and palliative care to families who have a child or young adult with a shortened life expectancy and complex medical needs.
Abode’s ongoing fundraising efforts continue to help Bluebell Wood Hospice’s patients to be cared for at home, as well as at the hospice’s site in Rotheram. According to Abode, its staff have managed to raise over £3.3k so far for the charity.
The partnership begun when Abode donated one of its Pronteau hot taps to the hospice, so all of the hospice staff could benefit from steaming hot water on demand. “Just made a brew with it and the difference in water quality is insane!”, one hospice worker reportedly remarked, adding: “This hot water tap has enabled us to remove the hot water boiler from the kitchen, reducing one or two risks and saving us a lot in energy costs!”.
In November, five Abode employees raised money for the hospice by taking part in the Doncaster City 10k run. In the same month, the company also hosted a Halloween coffee morning and sample sale to raise further funds.

“By extending the same level of compassion to impactful outreach programs that are local to us is really important to everyone at Abode, which is why we all come together as one big family to decide on the charities we support.”
Last year, Abode also announced the launch of a new rewards programme, called Accumulate, for kitchen and bathroom retailers.
