BiKBBI conference pays tribute to tragic dog attack victim

Damian Walters, chief executive of the British Institute of Kitchen Bedroom and Bathroom Installation (BiKBBI), invited attendees at its annual conference this week to remember the organisation’s late consultant, Ian Price, who tragically lost his life in a dog attack last year.

Price, 52, died on September 14 in the village of Stonnall, Staffordshire, after sustaining fatal injuries as a result of a dog attack, during which he was reportedly protecting his mother from harm.

At the time of his death, Price was employed as an independent inspector for BiKBBI. Following news of the incident last year, the organisation said: “His commitment to his industry and his contributions to our community were immeasurable.”

Walters paid tribute to Price as part of his introductory speech at BiKBBI’s conference yesterday.

“I would like to take a moment to reflect on a very tragic event which took place in September,” Walters said. “A friend and colleague who I’ve known throughout my entire career within this industry, who later became a consultant inspector to BiKBBI, was tragically killed in the most horrendous of circumstances.

“Ian was a much-respected industry figure, loved by those installers he worked with, and those installation managers he served alongside. He was a devoted family man, loving husband and amazing father.”

Walters then invited conference attendees to join him in a moment of silence in remembrance of Price.

Last year, BiKBBI said it had plans to establish a memorial trust in Price’s honour. It also hosted an online book of condolences, which can be found here.
