How Deralam’s joint venture with Kronospan is designed to help KBB retailers strengthen their relationships with clients…
As part of its growth strategy and to strengthen its support to KBB retailers, Deralam has invested in a dedicated Kronospan showroom at its distribution centre in Wigan.
The joint venture solidifies a 21-year partnership between the two brands and shows their commitment to supporting KBB retailers across the UK.
Outside of Kronospan’s own Design Centre facility in North Wales, the new 1001sq ft studio is the largest dedicated Kronospan showroom in the UK.
“We’re extremely excited to unveil our fantastic new Kronospan showroom at our Wigan head office distribution centre,” explains Richard Hughes (pictured), area sales manager, Deralam. “We’re thrilled to be able to offer this wonderful facility to our customers and their clients and feel extremely privileged that Kronospan chose Deralam as its partner for this venture.
“The project not only cements the excellent relationship we have with Kronospan, but it also strengthens our commitment to our retail partners. “The showroom is the perfect resource for retailers, designers, architects and consumers who are searching for design inspiration for their kitchen, bedroom and bathroom projects.
“With this space, we want to educate retailers and their customers on the breadth of the Kronospan portfolio and help them to not only increase sales but to produce the best designs possible. We are confident that this facility will help retailers take their businesses to another level.”
The facility enables Deralam’s retail partners to access Kronospan’s entire global collection, which comprises 193 SKUs in the decorative collection, and 73 SKUs in the worktop collection which includes laminates and compact worktops.
Ray Millo, sales manager, Kronospan explains why the brand chose Deralam to partner with on this project. “Kronospan has a very long and strong relationship with Deralam and this investment not only signifies our intention to continue to enhance and grow that relationship but also that we are fully committed to supporting UK KBB retailers. The facility not only represents significant investment in terms of expenditure but also highlights our intentions in the UK KBB market.”Many of the decors are showcased in large formats to give designers and their customers the opportunity to view the designs more clearly than if they were in sample size. It also features interactive mood boards where designers and their customers can play around with the different finishes.
Central to the layout of the new showroom is the Pure collection, the latest addition to the Kronospan portfolio. Described as a testament to Kronospan’s dedicated research and development, driven by the growing market demand for neutral and versatile designs, it features 15 MF board options, comprising eight uni colours and seven woodgrains, and five worktops
Retailers are encouraged to bring their customers along to the studio at Deralam’s facility in Wigan so that they can see the vast array of designs and finishes available across the Kronospan portfolio.
About Deralam:
With a trading history spanning over 40 years, family-run firm Deralam is one of the UK’s leading distributors of kitchen worktops, shower panels, solid surface and melamine-faced panels.
Operating from four depots in Wigan, Stoke, Dunstable and Exeter, the company boasts extensive stocks of products from a range of premium board and worktop brands, including Kronospan. Its aim is to cover all trends and price points making it the solution for many kitchen worksurface requirements.
All products are hand-delivered using its own fleet of over 25 vehicles.
“We understand that most independent KBB retailers have limited space in their own showrooms and, therefore, simply cannot display all of the options that are available from Kronospan. We also know that many are favouring a sleeker showroom design and are, therefore reducing the number of surface samples on show.
“So, we wanted to support our customers by providing a year-round facility that they can use to learn more about the Kronospan range. We also wanted to provide them with a sophisticated, inspirational space that they can bring their customers along to view Kronospan’s entire collection.
“We want our customers to view this facility as an extension of their own showrooms. Following on from the successful open days hosted last month, we have already received great feedback from retailers with several already having booked appointments to work on upcoming projects with their customers.”
The studio will also be used for training days where retailers, designers and architects can learn more about the growing Kronospan portfolio and the product development process.
