Portsmouth resident, Lucy Goffin, has been named a finalist in the Encouraging Women into Franchising (EWiF) awards for 2024.
Goffin, who launched her Kitchen Makeovers franchise in late 2022, has been nominated for the ‘New Woman Franchisee of the Year’ award, a recognition that highlights her achievements in a traditionally male-dominated industry.
Goffin’s journey into entrepreneurship began after a life-changing diagnosis of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Motivated to take control of her future, she ventured into the kitchen renovation business, where she has since established herself as a successful businesswoman.
In just under two years, Goffin has transformed over 100 homes in the Portsmouth area, offering a “revitalised and cost-effective approach” to kitchen renovations.
“To be recognised for succeeding in my solo venture into entrepreneurship amongst so many successful businesswomen is really empowering,” Goffin said. “It feels great to be able to demonstrate how overcoming my personal challenges has led to such positive impacts for me, my family, and my community.”
The EWiF awards celebrate women across various sectors in the UK, honouring those who drive change, break barriers, and set new standards in franchising. Goffin hopes her story will inspire other women, particularly those with ADHD, to pursue their entrepreneurial dreams.
“I want to continue showing other women and people with ADHD out there that the sky’s the limit! I’ve used what many consider a disadvantage as my superpower,” Goffin added.
Lucy Goffin will join other finalists at the NatWest EWiF Award ceremony on October 18 at The Royal Armouries in Leeds, where industry leaders will gather to celebrate the contributions of women shaping the future of franchising.
