Speaking exclusively to kbbreview, HiB marketing manager Deborah Freeman has said that the company will continue prioritising colour in its new product ranges for the foreseeable future, especially following its successful launches earlier this year.
Discussing why colour has become such a key consideration for bathrooms, Freeman said: “I think after the last few years that we’ve had, consumers are looking to more colourful products to create a bit of positivity and show their personality a bit more. People want something that’s a bit different. We think our new launches this year have catered for that, because not only do they use colour in a really nice way, but because of the way our concrete basins are manufactured, each product is entirely unique.”
“Also, even doing something as simple as swapping out a plain white basin for a colourful or textured one can make a bathroom space feel totally new and refreshed, so this year’s products have been great even for consumers who maybe aren’t looking to complete a total bathroom renovation.”
Celebrating feedback from retailers to the company’s two major launches this year, Freeman also said: “The response from retailers for our colourful basins this spring has been overwhelmingly positive. It’s been especially rewarding seeing how many retailers have used them to create their showroom window displays.”
Freeman also said that colour and personality is now a key consideration for the company’s product designers, and it is likely to remain that way for at least the next several years.
“We’re looking ahead to next year, where we’re planning another major product launch for the spring. That launch will focus even more on bold colours, and we’re also looking to introduce more products that make use of new textures too, so we’ll be continuing what we’ve already done in our Autumn launch.”
“The way that we work, we’re always thinking about 18 months in advance, because we like to time our major launches for roughly twice a year. What I can say is that we’ll still also be producing basins in more traditional colours as well, but we think that these bold new colours and textures are here to stay now, and we’re going to continue catering for consumers that are looking for that.”
Freeman’s prediction about colour also aligns with what other industry voices are predicting about a rise in colourful bathrooms as well. In Houzz’s predictions for the biggest home design trends for 2025, “colourful bathrooms” topped the list at the number one likely trend amongst consumers for the year ahead.
In other news, HiB chairman Warren Ginsberg was also recently awarded an MBE, presented in recognition for his contributions to the bathroom industry.
