Showroom of the Month: Harvey Jones, Chester

Designed to be its ‘flagship of the North’, the new Harvey Jones showroom has been totally refurbished to now feature all seven of the brand’s signature design collections.

Before customers even step foot inside, their first view of the newly refurbished Harvey Jones showroom is through the wraparound glazing that runs across the building’s exterior, offering a panoramic view of its luxury offering.

According to Lewis Buckley, senior designer at the Chester store, the team worked carefully to ensure a clear line of sight across the length of the showroom. He explains: “It’s anchored by our Original collection statement island in a striking navy, which also mirrors our new branding on the showroom front.”

One of the kitchen displays features a dedicated dog space.

Looking to the left once inside, visitors will see one of the showroom’s full kitchen displays, which combines Harvey Jones’ Arbor perimeter cabinetry and a Shaker island in the brand’s new Washed Oak finish – which was also launched in that specific showroom.

The clear line of sight helps each display stand strong independently, and according to Buckley, this helps showcase the extensive portfolio Harvey Jones can offer its clients.

Across the entirety of the roughly 1200 sq ft space, the Harvey Jones team has managed to house three full-size kitchen displays. These are supported by smaller display areas dotted around, such as a feature island, home office, bar, media room – and even a pet kitchen that’s ripe for some #petsinshowrooms posts in the near future.

The showroom’s Linear and utility room displays also incorporate fully working appliances, which Buckley says helps clients to imagine how the space could work in their own homes.

Aside from just the brand’s kitchen furniture, visitors to the space can see all the latest living technology from the likes of Bora, Miele, ILVE and Fisher & Paykel, with finishing touches provided by brands such as Blum, Quooker, Hendel & Hendel.

“We wanted to offer our clients a range of products to fit within their budgets,” Buckley says. “Often, clients are unaware of what they want and by introducing a suite of products across scaling budgets we’re able to clearly demonstrate the benefits of each.”

That philosophy of flexible pricing options also extends to the showroom’s stone suppliers as well, with Buckley adding: “We’ve curated a selection of worktops that complement our collections, and work within the same ethos of scalable budgets for our clients.

“You’ll also be able to see nods to some of the lifestyle and design choices our clients will make with support from the likes of Ca’ Pietra, Ralph & Co and Milton and King.”

Incredibly, the entire renovation process – from original design concept to unlocking the doors – took only 10 weeks from start to finish. “That’s what really demonstrates the innovation here at Harvey Jones,” Buckley concludes.
