Darren Allison, the former MD of BC Designs, has been announced as the incoming senior managing director of The Bathroom Distribution Group, promising “exciting times ahead” for the company.
Set to step into the role on January 27, Allison has been managing director of Colchester-based BC Designs, which is owned by Roxor Group, since 2017. Prior to that, he also worked as sales director of Bathroom Brands from 2008.
Huws Grey-owned Bathroom Distribution Group is well known in the KBB sector, as it also owns the Frontline Bathrooms and Smiths Briten brands.
Announcing the news, Daksh Gupta, CEO of Huws Grey, said the business was delighted to welcome Darren to the company. He continued: “With Darren’s experience and industry knowledge, I’m confident that he will add tremendous value and growth to the business.
“Darren is a talented and driven leader, and I look forward to him being instrumental in further strengthening the Bathroom Distribution Group’s position in the market.”
Commenting on his new position, Alison said: “This is an exciting opportunity for me to lead a successful business within a well-respected organisation. I look forward to working with the talented team there to build on the strong foundations that are already in place”
Speaking exclusively to kbbreview, Alison explained the motivation behind his decision to join the company, saying: “I was at a point when I was looking to retire from the bathroom industry as I was more and more concerned with the lack of support for companies’ staff and their most valued customers.
“Roxor, along with previous engagements, has shown me that you can build a wonderful business by looking after you staff and customers , and with tough times ahead this is so important.
“Once contact was made with Huws Gray I embarked on a series of meetings that proved breathtaking, even for me, a “dinosaur” of the bathroom industry. We discussed future plans and their upmost respect for their employees – which is very rare now.
“The existing management teams of both Frontline Bathrooms and Smiths Briten are well established and I look forward to providing a platform that they will relish and grow even more. Exciting times ahead!”
