PJH making good progress towards charity target

A PJH coast-to-coast cycle challenge recently raised more than £1000 for charity

After setting an ambitious goal of raising £15,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support, PJH says it is making great progress towards its annual fundraising target.

According to the company, a number of recent initiatives have helped it move even closer to the final charity sum. These include bake sales, fantasy football leagues, and Christmas jumper days. Also, the annual Macmillan Coffee Morning saw PJH colleagues across all sites raising significant funds for the charity.

In addition, depot manager Nicola Price and solutions delivery manager John Travis recently completed a coast-to-coast cycle challenge to contribute towards the total. Both cycled 127 miles from in the Lake District to Sunderland, which raised an impressive £1,000.

Meanwhile, warehouse supervisor Stephen Lloyd undertook the Ultra White-Collar Boxing challenge in Wolverhampton. After eight weeks of intensive training before stepping into the boxing ring, Lloyd ended up raising over £400.

At this stage, PJH has managed to raise more than a third of its overall £15,000 goal, with the company also promising to match every pound raised by its colleagues.

Kim Cooper, PJH’s head of marketing and product said she was proud of the company’s charity efforts so far, commenting: “We’re thrilled with the success of our on-going partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support and the incredible response from our colleagues.

“Macmillan’s work is vital to so many individuals and families, and we’re honoured to contribute. With a target of £15,000, we’re eager to build on our achievements and make an even greater difference.”

Last August, PJH announced it had managed to smash its £10,000 annual fundraising target, prompting the company to raise its total goal for this year.
