PJH races towards Macmillan charity goal

Kitchen and bathroom products supplier PJH has revealed it has successfully passed the halfway point in its fundraising goal in aid of its charity of the year.

After announcing that Macmillan Cancer Support was its chosen charity of the year in September, PJH now says it has managed to raise over £6,000 towards its eventual target of £10,000.

In September, PJH said it had managed to raise just over £3,000. According to the company, its staff are pleased to have now doubled that amount in such a short space of time.

In the last several months, PJH staff and colleagues have taken on a charity ascent of the Yorkshire Three Peaks, with six members of staff undertaking a 24-mile trek across Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough.

Additionally, members of the PJH team have continued to raise funds across a number of the company’s sites with a series of Macmillan Coffee Mornings.

PJH has also pledged to match the £10,000 charity amount once its staff have reached their goal figure. The company says that its staff are “demonstrating extraordinary dedication in their fundraising efforts” to meet the goal.

“We chose Macmillan as the 2023/24 PJH charity of the year, as it is such an amazing organisation that makes a huge difference to the lives of millions of people affected by cancer”, said Katy Burns, PJH’s HR business partner.

“All PJH fundraising events present the opportunity to raise awareness of the Macmillan Cancer Support charity and communicate the incredibly important work it does in supporting people affected by cancer. PJH colleagues have really got behind so many fundraising activities so I’m sure we’ll smash our target!”

In October, PJH also announced it had upgraded its bespoke online staff training platform to demonstrate its commitment to employee learning and development. Earlier in the year, the supplier also added 75 new sustainable vehicles to its transport fleet.
