Online design platform Houzz has pooled the search insights from its community of users, and says it has identified the top emerging UK design trends of the year, which includes double vanities, coffee stations and oak kitchens.

According to Houzz, which boasts more than 70 users, the top emerging trend seen since the start of the year is for luxurious bathrooms. The platform says searches for “double vanity” units have increased by almost 750% this year, with “double shower” searches up by 172%. Searches for “freestanding bath” have increased by 53% since last year, and users searching for “marble bathroom” saw a 51% spike.

Outside of the bathroom, Houzz says searches for “coffee station” have increased by 77% in 2025. Similarly, “drinks cabinet” searches are up by 56%, “home bar” has increased by 48%, and “wine cellar” searches are up by 43% over last year.

Houzz also says it has identified an increasing trend for wood-drenched interiors. Searches for “oak kitchen” are said to be up by as much as 214%, with the slightly less specific “wood kitchen” also seeing a 116% search boost. Houzz says that searches for wall treatments like “wooden slat walls” and “wood panels” are also trending on its platform.

In terms of internal architecture, Houzz says it believes natural lighting is now a top priority among its users. As a result, “skylight” searches are up by 115%, with “orangery” searches seeing a 94% increase. Similarly, “glass wall partition” searches have seen a 202% year-on-year boost.

Looking at colours, searches for “pink” interior ideas have risen by 2.5x, Houzz says. To break this down further, searches for “pink bathroom” are up by 114%, “pink kitchen” is up by 112%, and “pink bedroom” searches are up by almost 60%.

This follow’s Houzz’s prediction that pink would be the emerging kitchen colour for 2025 – a bold claim it made as early as November 2024.
