Richard Curtis: ‘We’re a partner for customers both old and new’
The managing director of Häfele UK still remains cautiously optimistic about the market, and knows that retailers simply want reassurance that they're working with suppliers they can count on
How’s business compared with last year?
“The economic environment was challenging and unpredictable during 2025, however, by staying focused on what our customers want, offering the right products at competitive pricing, all backed by our outstanding customer service, we saw an improved picture by the end of the year.
“We believe that those same market dynamics will remain in 2026, we remain cautiously optimistic, and our customers and suppliers share this hope. So, we are working hard and aim to continue that positive trajectory into 2026.”
What are the main challenges facing your sector and how are you tackling them?
“Our customers have experienced a turbulent few years and they want the reassurance that they’re working with businesses they can rely on. Building on our already 100-year history, we see ourselves as a long-term partner for customers both loyal and new. We’re not focused on short-term wins but invest time and energy to build relationships where customers know they can count on us.”
