LBS Builders Merchants has continued its ongoing investment into the KBB retail model with a total redesign of its Port Talbot showroom, following on from a similar revamp at its Llandeilo site earlier this year.
The company first discussed its plans to update stores into a more “contemporary retail-style” format in January, saying it was now looking to target both trade and consumer business.
Following on from that, LBS has now completed a full refurbishment of its Port Talbot showroom, which has been designed “to create a showroom that is both accessible and motivating, where customers can explore great design without feeling they have to compromise”.
Founded in 1931, LBS Builders Merchants currently operates 20 store locations across South Wales. Although LBS has operated primarily as a builders merchants until recently, the newly designed showroom has pivoted away from a focus on merchant displays, towards a more contemporary retail KBB showroom offering.

This renovation was driven by our desire to give customers more choice, more inspiration, and access to high-quality products in a space that’s welcoming and accessible to everyone,” commented Adam Stefanovic, LBS’ K&B commercial manager.

Similarly, showroom manager Steve Pearson added: “The showroom is completely different from the previous design. We wanted to create a space that really inspires people and shows that you can achieve a real wow kitchen without breaking the bank.
“Coming from a strong trade kitchen background, I understand how important it is to deliver both value for money and quality. Those two things should always go hand in hand. Our aim with this showroom was to give customers more choice, more ideas, and the confidence that they can create something special within their budget.”
Following the refurbishment of both its Port Talbot and Llandeilo showrooms, LBS says it will now turn its attention to investing in new retail displays for its Barry store.
