Grant Westfield has celebrated the retirement of supply chain manager Paul McKenzie after 42 years of service, with the company also deciding to name a meeting room after him at its Edinburgh HQ.
McKenzie joined the company immediately out of school, taking a role in the company’s drawing office. Through the subsequent four decades, he has progressed up through the business, being promoted to operations director before finally being appointed as supply chain manager.
Grant Westfield says McKenzie’s knowledge, commitment and experience over the years have made a lasting contribution to the company and its culture.
As well as renaming the meeting room in his honour, Grant Westfield also presented McKenzie with a long service award at his retirement party, where colleagues reflected on his longstanding contributions to the business.
“Paul’s contribution to Grant Westfield over the past 42 years has been remarkable,” said John Mortimer, managing director at Grant Westfield. “From joining the drawing office straight from school to becoming operations director and later supply chain manager, he has played an important role in many areas of the business.
“His experience, professionalism and commitment have earned him enormous respect from his colleagues and from partners across the industry. Naming a meeting room after Paul is a fitting way to recognise the impact he has made and to ensure his contribution remains part of Grant Westfield’s story.
