At Küchenmeile 2026, BLANCO showcased its new LAVIN tap family and VION sink collection alongside Velgranit, a new sink material available in four colours.
The presentation at Gut Böckel demonstrated how the products work together as part of the company’s wider approach to the kitchen water place.
The new products build on the design direction established by BLANCO’s LUNEOO taps and OOVALON sinks, extending its coordinated approach to the area of the kitchen used for preparing food, washing up and accessing drinking water.
For BLANCO, the focus is on more than the appearance of individual products. The company’s design team sees the sink, tap and waste separation as connected elements that need to work together in terms of aesthetics, functionality and everyday use.
A consistent design identity
Marcel Moritz, global head of design at BLANCO, explained how the company’s centenary provided an opportunity to look back at its history and establish a clearer design identity for its products.
“We looked back at Blanco’s 100-year heritage to create a design identity, using elements such as the oval, the chamfer and colour. The most important thing is consistency across all our products. We always think in terms of a system.”
That approach can be seen in the relationship between LAVIN and VION, which were developed together to create a coordinated look at the kitchen water place. Their shared design language is intended to make it easier for retailers and designers to combine the products while maintaining a consistent appearance.
Oliver Kuch, product designer at BLANCO, described the thinking behind this approach. “We think of the kitchen’s water area as its heart. That’s why we design the tap, sink and waste separation as a unit – not as individual products.”
The emphasis on a complete system also extends to the products surrounding the sink, with BLANCO presenting its Multi Match accessories as a way to combine additional functionality with the wider design scheme.
LAVIN combines distinctive detailing with practical design
One of the main new products on display was LAVIN, a mixer tap family available in C-shaped and L-shaped designs. Both feature a faceted form that creates different reflections as light falls across the surface, giving the tap a distinctive appearance without relying on an elaborate silhouette.
The range is available in five finishes, allowing it to be coordinated with different kitchen styles and sink colours. The two spout configurations also provide options for different installation situations.
Made from solid stainless steel, LAVIN features a spray head with two modes: a quiet, splash-free laminar stream for everyday use and a shower spray for other kitchen tasks. PVD technology is used for the three metallic finishes.
Moritz said the design process involved balancing the tap’s compact proportions with its practical requirements.
“We tried to fit the design into a really tight package, while making sure we never lost functionality.”
Installation was also a consideration. BLANCO’s BLANCOLock system is designed to support quick and secure fitting, while the two configurations give designers flexibility when planning the kitchen water place.
For retailers, the combination of shape, finish and functionality provides several ways to specify the tap as part of a coordinated sink and tap package, rather than treating it as a standalone finishing detail.
Velgranit introduces a new material and colour palette
Alongside LAVIN, BLANCO introduced Velgranit, a new sink material developed and patented by the company. The material has a smooth surface and is designed to provide a matt finish, with BLANCO Protection Shield contributing to its durability.
Velgranit is heat-resistant up to 300°C and is made in Germany. Its surface characteristics also allow BLANCO to create precise forms, including the 10-millimetre rim on the VION sinks.
Kuch explained how the material influences the finished design. “With Velgranit, we can achieve very tight radii and precise surfaces. “Even with small radii at the top and bottom, the sink remains easy to clean. The rim is just 10 millimetres, compared with the 30 millimetres many competitors use.”
The material is available in four colours: Sahara Sand, Olive Grey, Cloud White and Mystic Black. The palette extends beyond black and white, offering warmer, more natural shades that can be coordinated with worktops, cabinetry and tap finishes.
Sahara Sand is a muted beige, while Olive Grey combines green and grey tones. Cloud White offers a softer alternative to a bright white, and Mystic Black provides a darker finish with warmer undertones.
The four colours are intended to work alongside BLANCO’s wider range of tap finishes, including satin gold, satin platinum and satin dark steel, giving designers scope to create either a closely matched scheme or a stronger contrast between the sink and tap.
VION offers flexibility in specification
The VION sink family is available in both Velgranit and stainless steel, extending the collection across different material preferences and installation requirements.
A key feature of the Velgranit version is that a single model supports three installation types: inset, flush-mounted and undermounted.
This reduces the number of models needed to cover those installation options and can simplify specification.
The stainless steel version is available in inset and undermounted variants, with bowls in 400mm, 500mm and 700mm sizes to suit different kitchen layouts.
The collection’s restrained styling is designed to complement the LAVIN tap family, while the choice of material, colour and installation type gives designers flexibility to tailor the water place to individual projects.
A coordinated approach to the kitchen water place
The LAVIN and VION launches were part of a broader presentation at Gut Böckel that included BLANCO’s drink.systems, accessories and stainless steel expertise. The company also showed new gold and platinum colour options for its Durinox stainless steel surface, expanding the material’s existing portfolio.
Across the exhibition, the message was consistent: the sink area should be planned as an integrated part of the kitchen, with design, practical use and organisation considered together.
BLANCO’s latest launches provide further options for creating a coordinated water place, combining the new LAVIN tap designs with VION sinks in either Velgranit or stainless steel, and using colour and accessories to complete the specification.
Orders are now underway for showroom displays, or orders with stock availability in January 2027. Please consult BLANCO or your rep to learn more. Alternatively, you can visit the LAVIN and VION product page for more details.
