Used Kitchen Company celebrates 19 years in business

This month, The Used Kitchen Company (TUKC) is celebrating its success after being in business for 19 years, and is reporting a marked increase in sales as it approaches its twentieth anniversary.

This follows the similar success it enjoyed while celebrating its 18th birthday in 2023, after a year that the company called its “best yet”.

According to TUKC, it believes its recent uptick in sales is likely because more consumers want to embrace solutions that are both budget-friendly and eco-conscious, as sustainability is becoming more of a key consideration.

Over the last eight years in particular, TUKC has worked to expand its offering into bedrooms, bathrooms and home furnishings. The company says that this growth has helped it define itself as a trusted source for high-quality, sustainable furnishings, even being used by recognisable celebrities, such as TV presenters, music artists, reality stars and footballers.

The business has also been named as one of Kevin McCloud’s Green Heroes and Grand Designs, previously featuring on the Big Green Money Show with Deborah Meaden, and even appeared in the M&S Christmas advert.

TUKC founder and CEO, Looeeze Grossman, said: “Our journey over the last 19 years has been incredibly rewarding. We were the first to introduce the concept of kitchen recycling to both showrooms and homeowners in 2005, back when skips were overflowing and perfectly good kitchens were heading straight to landfill.

“It’s been a privilege to help so many customers find sustainable, high-quality kitchens, saving them up to 70% off retail prices. As we look to the future, we’re excited to continue to expand our platform, sharing the value, and eco-friendly impact of choosing The Used Kitchen Company and strengthening our commitment to sustainable excellence in the industry.”

Looking ahead to the future, TUKC also says it is looking to expand its partnerships with manufacturers and UK showrooms in 2025.

Earlier this year, TUKC unveiled its new “Boost Your Eco-Credentials” campaign at the 2024 kbb Birmingham show.
