BC Designs and Bayswater Bathrooms help local sports club to reopen

BC Design and Bayswater Bathrooms have helped to support the reopening of one of the UK’s largest children’s sports clubs.

The Leeds-based Horsforth Sports Club, which reopened on April 12, provides facilities for more than 90 children’s teams.

BC Designs and Bayswater Bathrooms made a donation to help towards buying new outdoor furniture so that the club could make use of its outdoor space and be able to serve food and drink to its members.

Darren Allison, managing director of Bayswater Bathrooms and BC Designs, said: “I have been fortunate in that my own children have been active members of the club, rising through the junior teams through to playing as adults. This club is at the heart of its community and I am pleased that we have been able to support it.

“Times are hard and knowing that the club is able to bring in revenue now that they have seating outside should hopefully help it survive for many, many more years to come.”

Speaking on behalf of Horsforth Sports Club, commercial director Sam Rainey said: “We are hugely thankful to Darren and his team for the donation. After nearly a year of lockdowns, our outdoor furniture was in a poor condition and we would not have been able to use it once we were able to reopen.

“With the new rules around social gatherings being outside in the first instance, the new furniture is vital to the club’s survival as it allows us to serve food and drinks again and bring in much needed funds into the club.”
