Bette products awarded EPD sustainability endorsement

German glazed steel bath, basin and tray manufacturer Bette has received official recognition for the sustainability of its products with a new Environmental Product Declaration (EPD).

The EPD endorsement is based on the ISO 14025 and EN 15804 standards and covers the entire life cycle of Bette’s products. It provides details of the products’ environmental performance as well as independent verification of their sustainability.

Bette says that its glazed titanium-steel products are made only from natural materials and are designed to last 30 years. When they do wear out, says the company, they are 100% recyclable.

To underline that sustainability is central to its whole manufacturing operation, Bette also generates two-thirds of its electricity in-house from renewable sources.
