Chefs cook up a fundraiser in Halcyon’s new Alno kitchens

Halcyon Interiors’ Wigmore Street showroom raised more than £5,000 for poor families in Africa and Asia by hosting a fundraising cooking event for the charity Curry for Change.

Six acclaimed chefs, including the founder of London restaurant Darjeeling Express, Asma Khan, Nisha Parmar, MasterChef 2018 semi-finalist and food blogger Hari Ghotra, cooked a variety of dishes in Halcyon’s display kitchens for about 100 guests.

Graham Robinson, showroom manager, said the chefs were impressed with the firm’s Alno, Eggersman and Warendorf kitchens, as were the guests who attended the culinary event.

“We gave out five business cards on the night,” Robinson told kbbreview.

He said: “It’s really rewarding to be involved in this excellent event for such a good cause. It’s a small charity but the nature of it means helping one person benefits their whole community.”

Halcyon Interiors was introduced to the Curry for Change charity a few years ago after installing a kitchen to a member of the Patak family, who is an ambassador for the charity.

The money raised will be donated to the Curry for Change charity campaign to help poor, rural families in Asia and Africa to grow more food, and access vital information on nutrition and health.
