Davroc launches new affordable luxury brand Coalbrook

Coalbrook is the newest brand from premium bathroom distributor Davroc. The brand is said to fill a gap in the bathroom market with its design-led products at competitive prices.

The affordable luxury brand is said to have ‘boldness and innovation at its heart’ and has a range of bathroom essentials that are modern and stylish. The name of the brand is derived from Coalbrookdale, the site of the world’s first iron bridge, and it is said to be the birthplace of the industrial revolution. The industrial-inspired design is seen in the brand’s identity and product ranges.

The new range will be first displayed in the Market Building in Clerkenwell, created by interior architects Holloway Li. The building matches Coalbrook’s industrial style.

Chris Dodds, managing director at Davroc and Coalbrook, said: “We are delighted to announce the launch of Coalbrook and the opening of The Market Building. The brand and products have been many years in development after we noticed a gap in the market for stylish and affordable brassware.

“Using our unrivalled knowledge and experience of the bathroom industry, we have created a brand with design and quality at the forefront to bring our customers innovative, exciting and affordable solutions that will elevate any bathroom space. We’re looking forward to opening the doors to The Market Building, which not only showcases the Coalbrook products but brings the brand history and narrative to life, offering a memorable experience beyond the possibility of online channels.”

There are two ranges in the Coalbrook brand, Domo and Decca, and more launches are expected early next year. Both ranges have a complete set of products including taps, deck and wall-mounted basin mixers, deck and freestanding bath fillers, showers and a complimentary accessories range. All are available in a choice of four bold finishes: brushed brass, brushed nickel, gunmetal and chrome.

Domo is said to work with any bathroom space, whether traditional or contemporary. It has a focus on form and function and is versatile, minimalistic and industrial looking. Decca has an urban and more modern feel. It has subtle stylistic features like disc handles with fluted edges, grooves in the handles that add texture.

In the showroom, the ground floor is designed to appear like a landscape of industrial chimneys. The shower displays are mounted on these ‘chimneys’ that are beneath chainmail curtains. Down the stairs of the showroom to the basement level has two large industrial boiler-like structures house working tap displays.

The new showroom is also home to Davroc’s Bard & Brazier, who designed display units fabricated from brass tubing, and Bard & Blackwood, who crafted the bespoke joinery.
