Haier comes out tops for eighth year

Chinese appliance manufacturer Haier has announced it has retained its position as the global market leader in large household appliances.

According to data from Euromonitor International, the company has secured a 10.3% retail volume market share, with this being the eighth consecutive year Haier has been named the market leader.

The study took place over 46 countries and 30 brands. It showed that Haier took the top spot in refrigeration, with a 16.8% share of the market, while in freezers it had a 21.5% share, 14.4% for laundry appliances and 8.5% in wine coolers.

It also announced it had become the number one brand in ‘connected air-conditioners’ for the first time, taking a 23.6% share of the market.
