Kbbreview Awards event outlines safety measures

Organisers of the kbbreview Retail & Design Awards have committed to making the flagship industry event as safe as possible by confirming it will ask all attendees to verify their ‘double jab’ vaccination status or prove a negative lateral flow test before entering the venue.

Both involve simply registering with an NHS app, with the vaccination status demonstrated via a QR code scanned at the door.

Likewise, results of the lateral flow test – which must be taken at least 24 hours before the event starts – is registered with the app and a text message is sent to your phone confirming the negative result.

These simple measures, organisers say, will provide peace of mind for all guests travelling to the event.

The kbbreview Retail & Design Awards 2021 is being held at the Liverpool Cathedral on Wednesday, September 15 and promises to be the biggest post-lockdown industry networking and social event.

And from August 16, fully-vaccinated people will no longer have to self-isolate if a contact tests positive for Covid or they are ‘pinged’ so attendees with the double jab can be assured that they will not have to isolate even in the unlikely event that a guest does get a positive test afterwards.

“While the government has lifted all social distancing restrictions, we want to make sure that all our guests at the awards feel comfortable and can have a great time,” said Taylist Media event director Mark Pearson. “So these very simple measures, which are common at many events, will reassure everyone that this is a very safe environment.

“We will also very strongly urge all guests to do a lateral flow test ahead of the event regardless of vaccination status.”

“All of our invitees will receive full instructions on how to make sure play their part in making this the best awards event yet. We’ve got an incredible venue and some amazing plans to entertain everyone on the night – and, of course, we’re celebrating the achievements of some of the best retailers and designers in the UK.”

Anyone wishing to come to the event is advised to book now as there are only a few tables remaining. Go to www.kbbreview.com/awards for all the details.

If there any changes to government guidelines between now and the event then organisers will update.
