New Kutchenhaus retailer makes most of new technology

Kutchenhaus has opened a new showroom in Sutton Coldfield on April 12 to mark the reopening of non-essential retail.

The new showroom at 24-26 Chester Road should have opened at the beginning of the year, but used the time during lockdown on renovation work. This brings the total number of Kutchenhaus franchise stores to 40.

The showroom will operate by appointment and adhere to all social distancing requirements. It will also offer virtual appointments for those not wishing to attend in person and make make use of Kutchenhaus’s new online 3D planning tool to create kitchens remotely for customers.

This is the second showroom in two years opened by co-owners Stacey Clohessy and Jay Mason, who also run a Kutchenhaus franchise in Walsall. They have a combined 30 years’ experience in kitchen showrooms.

The 2,000sq ft Sutton Coldfield store employs five staff.

Commenting on the opening of the new Kutchenhaus showroom, business owner Jay Mason said: “I can’t imagine many retailers have opened a new store during a global pandemic, however we’ve managed to overcome all the odds and harness the latest technology to start trading.

“The showroom itself has taken two months to completely transform and we are looking forward to meeting shoppers and introducing them to our ranges and unique concept.

“We are delighted to be back in the Sutton Coldfield area as we have many memories around here, so can’t wait to welcome people inside the new showroom. With the success our Walsall showroom has had since opening last year we know this is the perfect place for our second showroom.”

Sean Ford, national head of sales and operations for Kutchenhaus, added: “Kutchenhaus is on an ambitious growth path over the next two to three years, however being in the grip of a global pandemic has certainly presented some challenges and even positively altered the way we do business in some cases. It is therefore extremely satisfying that Jay, Stacey and their team are now in a position to be able to open their store in Sutton Coldfield in some capacity and offer local customers the opportunity to plan and design their dream kitchen.

“We are very excited to be part of the new showroom opening in Stamford, a community we believe is in a good vibrant location and is connected well to the surrounding areas. The new store will no doubt offer an engaging store environment and deliver a high-quality product, a market opportunity which we know is currently in high demand.  We wish the team all the best and can’t wait to see their future success.”
