Passmore Group moves into selling kitchens

The Leeds-based home improvements specialist Passmore Group has expanded its operations to include fitted kitchens.

The 54-year-old, family-run business said that it had achieved 26% growth over the past two years. It said the addition of kitchens, under the banner More Kitchens, to its existing bedrooms, bathrooms and building portfolio, was the “next logical step” in its strategy to achieve 60% growth by 2022.

The group offers a full project-managed design and install service on all of its bedroom, bathroom and building services, and will offer the same service for its range of traditional, linear, classic and contemporary kitchens.

Kitchen displays will be added to its Leeds showroom. The company also has a showroom in Harrogate, and a concession at the Whiteleys Garden Centre in Mirfield, where it also has kitchen displays.

Commenting on the move, managing director Tony Passmore said: “We have become the only five-star-rated bathroom installer and designer in the region, and after witnessing the firm’s 26% growth in the past two years – following the introduction of More Bathrooms and More Ability in Harrogate – we felt that the next logical step was to expand our kitchen offering, making it a standalone service.

“As a result, we will provide our customers with a ‘one stop shop’ for their main home improvement items, with a company they can trust to deliver on quality.”

As part of its planned expansion, the company has also hired eight new staff, including six kitchen fitters.

Among the new staff are Rob Hands as installations surveyor and Desiree Eddy as marketing executive.

Hands brings 30 years of experience to his new role and will oversee the design and installations teams and undertake final checks of specifications, order products and schedule the final fits.

Eddy has five years’ marketing experience in IT and FMCG sectors and her main role will be to enhance the online presence of its More Bathrooms and More Ability (accessible designs and products) brands.

Passmore added: “Desiree will make a great addition to the marketing department. She comes from an agency and client-facing background, giving her a fantastic scope of knowledge and hands-on experience to support us in our expansion.

“Rob’s role has been specifically created for our expansion into the new division, and he has fantastic experience in managing the entire service renovation process, so he will be a valuable member of our team.

“The new hires will help ensure that we uphold our first-class renovation standards and deliver an exceptional service every time.”
