Sharp to showcase new SDAs and first vacuum cleaner

Sharp Home Appliances will be at IFA with its first cordless vacuum cleaner, a preview of some new small appliances, some newly-launched air purifiers and its wi-fi-connected smart-home line-up.

Visitors to its on the 770 square-metre stand at the Berlin show will also notice the company’s new motto – Be Original.

Sharp Home Appliances will also be previewing its forthcoming small domestic appliances, which include a kettle with multiple temperature settings and a matching toaster and coffee machine.

The company also pledged to give the niche smart-home market mainstream appeal with its advanced series of wi-fi-enabled appliances.

The second-generation of smart products are capable of identifying and informing the company of any product issues as well as sending out quick-fix messages via the Sharp Home Appliances app, so users can resolve the issue themselves.

The wi-fi range display will include the 600mm Air Steam oven, its super-sized fridge-freezers, including the flexible Grand Top Series of high-rise mount models and its Karakuri fridge-freezer inspired by the karakuri doors that ninjas used to hide from their enemies.

The brand will also launch a new 10kg washing machine, which is capable of self-dispensing the right level of detergent for “months’ worth of weekly cycles”.

The show will see Sharp make its debut into the vacuum market with the launch of its 25.2V cordless vacuum cleaner. The company claimed its vacuum would “dramatically cut charging periods”, while offering flexibility and 60-minute run times.

European sales and marketing director Alberico Lissoni commented: “Demonstrating our inclusive vision for life at home, this IFA showcase is the perfect way for us to launch our “Be Original” motto.
