Unified Water Label Association to host European virtual conference

The Unified Water Label Association (UWLA) is to host the Water Matters European virtual conference to explore how the bathroom industry can best promote water efficiency to its customers.

The conference, to be held on Tuesday, April 13 at 1pm, is free to access and will include a panel discussion with participants from four European companies and KBB industry speakers from Ikea and German DIY retailer Globus.

The panel will talk about how they are working with the Unified Water Label in their particular sector, which tools or channels are most effective, and how they are innovating to meet their environmental goals.

UWLA managing director Yvonne Orgill (pictured) said: “The time is right to bring together different sectors of our industry to discuss how they are communicating the benefits of using innovative water-efficient products, for the benefit of the planet. There is a renewed awareness among governments and consumers that climate change should be taken seriously, and with the Unified Water Label gaining ground across Europe, there is much to be gained from sharing experiences.

“We are excited to bring this event on-line, offering the opportunity for more people to join us, encouraging everyone to do a little so that together we can achieve a lot.”

Guest speaker at the Waters Matters conference will be ‘impact entrepreneur’  Ben Keene, who co-founded Tribewanted – an eco-friendly sustainable community in Fiji and has spent 20 years exploring how to make a positive impact through forming start-ups and communities around the world.

Keene commented: “Water is life. Helping people understand the impact of their water consumption and nudge them towards positive behaviour change is an exciting challenge. I look forward to sharing some stories at the Water Matters event that I hope will accelerate your impact.”

Also speaking at the conference will be new UWLA president Carlos Velazquez. He will present an update on the progress of UWLA throughout Europe.

He said: “This will be an important conference for anyone that wants to learn more about how to communicate with customers on water efficiency and environmental issues. We have brought together an outstanding line-up of speakers to share their strategies, and the commercial benefits that come from supporting and promoting the Unified Water Label.”
