Pre-owned kitchen retailer Used Kitchen Hub has been shortlisted for two separate SME National Business Awards, which it calls “a huge testament to everything we stand for as a business”.
The online second-hand kitchen retailer is shortlisted in both the Family Business of the Year and Service Excellence categories. The business has said that its recognition in this year’s awards is due to its customer service, which it has prioritised since its founding in 2015.
The Used Kitchen Hub has also worked to support luxury German kitchen brand Poggenpohl with its sustainability objectives, through its work re-selling customers’ used kitchens.
In collaboration with the brand – as well as multiple other European manufacturers – Used Kitchen Hub says it has helped to prevent many kitchens from going to landfill sites, while also supporting the company’s sustainability drive.
The SME National Business Awards is held annually, and celebrates small and medium sized enterprises from across the UK. Its full list of 20 awards includes categories such as Employer of the Year, Best New Business and the Positive Impact Award.
Daniel Abrahams, Used Kitchen Hub’s founder, commented: “My wife and I co-founded Used Kitchen Hub in 2015, shortly after selling our own kitchen, when the concept of buying and selling second-hand kitchens was still relatively new. We wanted to help reduce the number of viable ex-display and privately owned kitchens being sent to landfill, whilst also finding them a new home.
“Since then, we have consistently worked on building awareness of the brand and our unique approach to market, alongside growing our network of showrooms, manufacturers and suppliers nationwide.
“To be recognised for both our strong family values and our dedication to providing a friendly hand-held service is a huge testament to everything we stand for as a business, and we couldn’t be more pleased. Winners of the SME National Business Awards 2024 will be announced on December 6.
