Whirlpool pays tribute after death of former employee

Whirlpool UK Appliances has paid tribute to former employee Jayson Weston after his sudden and unexpected death, aged 51.

Weston (pictured) worked for Whirlpool UK for almost 30 years, most recently as brand experience, customer and digital activation and in-store director.

In that role, he was responsible for managing all commercial and marketing customer activations. He also negotiated and secured sponsorship from Arsenal, PSG and AC Milan football clubs and the ‘Fresh Thinking for Forgotten’ marketing campaign for Hotpoint featuring celebrity chef Jamie Oliver.

Whirlpool UK public affairs director Ian Moverley commented: “Having worked side by side with Jace for more than 20 years, what always struck everyone was not only his dedication and attention to detail, but also a passion to think differently, embracing technology and alternative ideas to improve the business and the customer experience.

“Personally, I will forever be grateful for his warmth, friendship and kindness where he would always go out of his way to help you. Everyone at Whirlpool was devastated to hear of his passing and will miss him greatly.

Moverley added: “I miss a true friend and feel blessed to have been able to spend so much time with him over the years. Our hearts go out to his family for the loss of a truly inspirational and unique man.”

Weston leaves behind a wife and two young children.

Whirlpool is the parent company of the Hotpoint, Indesit, Whirlpool and KitchenAid brands.
