Wilsonart acquires Bushboard

Kitchen and bathroom work surfaces manufacturer Bushboard has been acquired by Wilsonart.

Wilsonart – a major supplier of decorative surfacing products – has been a major partner to Bushboard for more than 20 years. It said Bushboard joining its group of branded companies would offer “significant” opportunities for pooling expertise, new product development and driving company growth through deeper working relationships.

Stuart White (pictured), managing director of Bushboard, said: “Bushboard is very proud of its UK manufacturing heritage and the emphasis we place on design, innovation, quality and service. Wilsonart is a dynamic global player, and being part of the group gives us access to new material technologies that will support this ethos and our commitment to developing leading-edge products for the benefit of our customers and consumers.

“This has been a milestone decision for us as a business, but has been made knowing that ourselves and Wilsonart share the same core values around people, partnerships, design and dialogue. We will operate as a separate business within the group and continue to build on the success of the Bushboard brand, both in the UK and with the new export opportunities that Wilsonart’s international reach now offers us.

“There are no changes at Bushboard, nor to the way customers trade with us. We remain strongly committed to serving the independent retail market with our full range of brands, across the spectrum of laminate, quartz and solid surface, which are available through our national distribution partners.”

Tim Pearson, Wilsonart president for western Europe, added: “Bushboard is a terrific company that brings new, innovative products to market. It will be a great addition to our European operations, which already include leading engineered surfaces brands like Polyrey and Resopal.”
