BSH announces new global CEO

Dr Carla Kriwet will become global chief executive of BSH Hausgeräte GmbH on July 1.

Dr Kriwet will be responsible for the global brand of more than 60,000 employees. The news came a week after Gunjan Srivastava was announced as the new UK CEO of BSH.

With her current employer Philips, she has held various management positions, including as part of the executive committee and is currently chief business leader in the connected care cluster, where she is also responsible for digital innovations.

Dr Kriwet said: “I am personally committed to improving the quality of life for people worldwide. Modern home appliances, in combination with digital technologies, can make a significant contribution to that. I very much look forward to helping shape the success of this innovative company steeped in tradition in the future.”

Alongside her career, she is a member of the supervisory board of Save the Children Germany. She spent time in Africa as a volunteer aid worker before commencing her studies and she has a PhD in business administration.

She will succeed Uwe Raschke, who, alongside his duties on the Robert Bosch board of management, has led BSH since July 2019. Raschke said: “Carla Kriwet has all the qualities needed to continue the long-standing success story of BSH.”

Prof Stefan Asenkerschbaumer, chairman of the BSH supervisory board, said: “Carla Kriwet is an experienced manager and outstanding leadership personality with great expertise in digital technologies and innovative products. We are delighted to be appointing her as CEO to the BSH board of management.”
