Group BK appoints new MD

Group BK, which includes BK Nolte Contracts, BKoncepts, Kühl Kitchens and Doca GB, has appointed two new directors.

New managing director Paula Hopkinson (pictured left) has extensive knowledge of the kitchen industry having held director positions at Bernstein Group and more recently Glen Dimplex Home Appliances.

She brings a wealth of qualities, including an entrepreneurial approach to driving business development, a charismatic leadership capability and a genuine enjoyment of managing people.

Hodkinson commented: “BK Nolte Contracts has a great product offering and an energetic, enthusiastic team. I am really excited by the opportunity to take the business forward and build a solid foundation for future growth.”

Hodkinson supersedes Mick Du Toit, who has taken on the new role of group vice-chairman.

Du Toit will still have an active role within Group BK with his efforts now focused on developing the company’s bedroom division together with guiding Group BK into new markets with new products.

Paul Morris (right) has also joined the company in the role of IT and operations director.

Morris is an experienced director with an enviable knowledge of the kitchen industry, having spent over 14 years at Richmond Cabinet Company.

He has outstanding IT skills together with an impressive track record of cultural, organisational and operational year-on-year cost reduction.

Both Hodkinson and Morris will be based at the company’s head office in Wrexham, north Wales.

Group BK chairman Bob Ruler said: “Group BK is building a senior management team who, in conjunction with the existing workforce, are capable of taking the company to the next level and beyond. The appointments of Paula and Paul are instrumental in this transitional phase and in the continuing success and growth of Group BK. Their experience of the kitchen industry is exceptional and I’m confident that they will prove to be invaluable assets to the company. Group BK has exciting times ahead.”
