Turkish home appliance manufacturer Vestel has appointed Matthew Lang as UK managing director to help kick-start its expansion plans.
Lang (pictured) will be responsible for the development of Vestel’s OEM business as well as its growing brand portfolio, which includes Sharp Home Appliances.
He has more than 25 years’ experience in the consumer electronics and telecommunications sectors. Lang has built numerous sales and marketing organisations around the world and has held a number of board level positions, including various chief executive roles with Sony.
Lang said: “I’m excited to come on board at such an important time in Vestel’s growth and evolution. Sharing the company’s huge ambition, I relish the challenge of realising and driving its potential across new as well as existing channels.”
Vestel executive committee member Ahmet Erol added: “Utilising his background and thorough market experience, I am sure Matthew will help us to achieve our objective of sustainable and profitable growth across diverse business units in Vestel UK.”
