Omega reveals major expansion plan

Fitted kitchen furniture manufacturer Omega has invested £7.5 million in the expansion of its HQ and factory in South Yorkshire.

Omega’s new 80,000sq ft manufacturing and warehouse facility in Thorne will take the single-site operation to a total of 400,000sq ft and is expected to increase production capacity to more than £125m over the next two years.

Work on the expansion is due to be completed by October.

The extension will also house additional storage and offices to enable the brand to meet its increased production targets and growing demand for its kitchens from both the retail and contract sectors.

Omega chairman Sir Bob Murray (pictured) commented: “This is a significant investment and key indicator of how well our business is performing, and underlines our confidence in future sales and continued growth in the sector.

“Omega is now the premier volume supplier to the retail sector. Our values of delivering inspired British design and high-quality crafted kitchen furniture, backed up with exceptional customer service, makes us a natural choice for our retail and contract partners.

“We are a consumer-led business, with years of successfully targeting and servicing the needs of customers. We believe our specialist knowledge and passion for the industry is what sets us apart from our competitors. We are the only major manufacturer in the UK with a sole focus on the kitchen market.”
